What is Nano Respirator

In terms of type and design, this product is usually identical to regular respirator. The nano respirator is usually manufactured to the same unified and standardized shapes and dimensions as conventional FFP2 and FFP3 respirators.

What makes the nano respirator fundamentally different from conventional respirators is the type of used filtration technology. Nano respirators are always manufactured using at least one of known nano filtration technology. This advantage increases the service life cycle and thus the usability of the product and also significantly improves the resulting filtration parameters of the respirator.

Protection levels of nano respirators

Respirators containing functional nano filtration technology shall reach a minimum of FFP2 filtration level, but often perform in tests better than FFP3 class respirators.

Certification of nano respirators

Just as conventional respirators are rated for their level of protection, nano respirators are professionally tested and certified according to applicable unified international standards for medical or protective equipment.

Due to the fact that the use of nanotechnologies in respiratory protective equipment is a novelty, the absence of certification does not necessarily mean that the product is of poor quality or non-functional. The results of tests by authorized testing laboratories should always be taken into account when selecting nano products.

Common types of nano filtering

The list below shows most common types of protective nanofilters used in nano respirators.

  • Physical nano barrier
  • Filter layer with active silver
  • Filter layer with active copper
